Review A

My SAIC-GM-Wuling Hongguang features a new grille, square front with straight lines for a muscular look, trendy projector headlights, and dual horizontal waistlines; high-end models have roof racks. Its 1.5L naturally aspirated engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox delivers decent performance: the clutch engages at a third, the throttle is responsive with linear RPM increase, gears shift smoothly with good feel, and acceleration is strongest at 40-80km/h, though it weakens above 80km/h as expected for a small-displacement engine. Engine noise gets loud above 3000rpm but stays under 2000rpm in most urban driving; however, road noise becomes noticeable above 60km/h, affecting conversations. The soft suspension handles small bumps well but causes rear-end bounce over speed bumps or manholes, requiring speeds below 20km/h for passenger comfort. The manual version has good fuel economy, with an official combined 6.5L/100km, 6.8L/100km in the city without AC, and highway consumption...

Review B

I find the SAIC-GM-Wuling Hongguang has an耐看 minimalist exterior with integrated headlights, no front fog lights (low usage here), 175mm tires offering decent grip, a high ground clearance for rough roads, and a clean rear with vertical taillights. The doors open wide for easy access but close with a clunky, low-quality sound and may not latch without force. On rough roads, there's noticeable body晃动 and metal collision noises. The suspension is basic—front seats are the most comfortable, while the second and third rows are bumpy; the third row lacks headrests, causing neck fatigue on long rides, though both rows offer ample space (I'm 1.78m). The steering is light with electronic power but has significant play, requiring adjustment for new drivers to avoid understeering. The 1.2L engine performs adequately with enough throttle input: it needs patience to start, feels轻快 above 50km/h, but struggles past 80km/h with engine roar. It drifts at high speeds and leans noticeably in turns, necessitating slow cornering. For long trips with 1-2 people, adding weight to the rear helps stability; it feels steadier when fully loaded, but braking distance is concerning—slower driving is safer. The 5-speed manual transmission works well with short shifts and good gear engagement. The clutch has a high bite point, aiding low-speed traffic handling and preventing stalling, which is reasonable for its price point (not a performance car).

Review C

I had the chance to check out a SAIC-GM-Wuling Hongguang at my friend's repair shop. The 2020 1.5L S Standard National VI model has a stable 1.5L L4 naturally aspirated engine (code LAR) with a 6-speed manual transmission, offering 99 hp and 140 Nm of torque, though起步动力 is weak. Its transmission components have good precision, reducing idle noise. The customer came because the radiator fan was too loud; we fixed it by replacing the thermostat as it didn't open properly when heated. The front MacPherson independent suspension and rear rigid axle non-independent suspension handle torque well but result in strong vibrations over potholes, making long rides uncomfortable. The electric power steering is light, easy for women to handle, but there's no multifunction steering wheel. Interior uses hard plastic and leather with chrome accents; power windows are convenient, but manual exterior mirrors aren't. Space is great: I'm 180cm, with 2 fists of front headroom, 1 fist 4 fingers of second-row headroom, and 1 fist 2 fingers of legroom. The trunk fits backpacks or small suitcases without folding the third row, but the tailgate opening height is low, so tall people need to be careful.
