I am not very satisfied with the GAC Trumpchi GS8. The audio system is poor with 8 speakers. The soft chassis lacks support during cornering and aggressive driving, feeling like a boat. There's no soundproof glass for the front row. The central control lacks physical buttons, and voice control sometimes misrecognizes conversations. The 7-seat version is expensive with a high guide price and small discounts; the 24th model only has 7 seats while the 25th has 5 seats, which is a policy mistake.

However, the space is amazing. I'm 176cm tall and 70kg, and the third row has enough headroom and legroom. The second row's one-button fold and forward function makes entry easy. The动力 is sufficient; even with a heavy body, acceleration is good, especially in sport mode, though起步 is a bit slow. The 255/50 R20 Michelin tires are quiet and fuel-efficient around 110km/h. The轮毂 design is cool with a pentagram reinforcement inside. It has thick front and rear "日" shaped anti-collision beams and real exhaust pipes. The fuel consumption is 10L/100km, which is satisfactory for a 2.0T 2-ton vehicle. The mecha-style外观 is very cool and imposing.

My experience with the GAC Trumpchi GS8 has been quite satisfying. The first and second rows offer ample space, and I even placed a 1.8m mattress in the back for noon naps. The comfort is great, especially the multi-directional power-adjustable driver's seat, remote start, Bluetooth key, voice control, and the clear HUD with red alerts for oncoming vehicles. The hybrid version, though 42,000 yuan pricier, provides a smooth driving experience with sufficient power. NVH is excellent, and the L2级辅助 driving is a highway gem. The steering is light despite the car's size. Currently, the average fuel consumption is around 6L/100km for my 25km daily commute, though using the AC for naps increases it. However, there are some drawbacks: the 20G navigation memory fills up quickly with automatic offline map downloads; the black car gets dirty easily; the chrome dashboard trim reflects sunlight onto the windshield; there are few in-car apps; and the new car smell lingers even after a month with charcoal deodorizers. Overall, it meets my family's expectations in terms of looks, fuel efficiency, power, interior, and smart features.

I've owned the 2024 GAC Trumpchi GS8 for nearly a year, covering 10,000 km, and here's my review. As a family man with two kids, the 6-seater GS8 offers balanced space. The third row is passable for short trips with adults around 1.6m, though legroom is tight without the aisle space of the 6-seater. Trunk space with all seats up is limited but manageable with clever packing. NVH performance decreases from front to back; the third row suffers from noticeable road and trunk resonance noise at highway speeds, even with music. The seats are supportive but firmer than the 2022 model I test-drove. Driving is light for its size, though acceleration with a full load is mediocre. My main complaints are supply chain issues: front shock absorber异响 requiring replacement at 10,000 km, a broken plastic bracket in the left storage compartment, second-row seat noise since delivery, and intermittent infotainment/行车记录仪 glitches. The instrument cluster UI is cluttered, and the seat memory tied to user accounts is inconvenient. The DMS fatigue monitoring frequently false-alarms with glasses in sunlight.
