SAIC-GM-Wuling Journey

I am not satisfied with the SAIC-GM-Wuling Journey's sliding middle door windows that can't fully open and the poorly designed USB port with an upward-flipping cover that hinders plugging. The first and second gears have obvious顿挫, requiring high revs, but power is sufficient from third gear onwards, and the steering is precise. The fuel consumption is approximately 8 L/100km. The exterior and spacious interior are satisfactory, with people often commenting on its large space being convenient for carrying people and goods. The dashboard has comprehensive functions, and it is equipped with dual evaporator and central air conditioning.

I wanted a reliable vehicle that can carry both goods and people. The SAIC-GM-Wuling Journey meets my needs with its good reputation, large cargo capacity, and spacious interior. However, it lacks comfort, especially in sound insulation, and has a simple interior. The 1.5T engine and front-engine rear-drive setup are comfortable, but the rear drum brakes feel odd for an 80,000+ RMB car. Fuel consumption is around 9 L/100km combined and 10-11 L/100km in pure city driving, which is noticeable given its over 5-meter length and frequent city use with passengers.

I am most satisfied with the SAIC-GM-Wuling Journey's spacious interior, a key selling point with 5.15m length and 3.18m wheelbase. A 180cm person has over two fists of headroom in the first row, two fists in the second with fixed seats and one and a half fists of legroom, and more than one fist of headroom plus two fingers of legroom in the third. The rear seats can be fully folded for cargo. The 1.5T turbo engine (108kW/147hp/250N·m) paired with 6-speed manual offers sufficient power for its 1.56-ton weight. However, the interior materials and texture, similar to Wuling Hongguang, especially the roof and seats, are basic. With configurations like driver airbag, tire pressure warning, rear parking radar, manual steering adjustment, front power windows, and manual air conditioning being just adequate, this versatile vehicle suits both family travel and cargo hauling, ideal for budget-conscious users.
