My least satisfied points about Jetta VS8: 1. The assembly is not very delicate, like the black glossy panel connecting the rear leaf to the roof has a large gap and can be lifted a bit with fingers. 2. No armrest in the back row. 3. The front passenger seat needs manual adjustment, which is inconvenient for the elderly.
Exterior: It looks quite upright and rough but not ugly. The blade wheels and floating roof are youthful.
Interior: Most materials are soft-wrapped, with some hard plastic in the back. The leather feels soft. The front row has a 15-inch floating screen, LCD instrument, and ambient screen, giving a young and modern feel, suitable for home use without luxury.
Cockpit: The front cabin is the biggest difference from other Jettas. The 3-screen car infotainment is responsive and smooth with more functions. The column-mounted gear shift frees up space for double-layer storage, making the front row neat and practical, similar to new energy vehicles but less luxurious.
Space: Riding space is spacious. For a 173cm person, there's nearly two fists of head space and a water cup's length of leg space in the back row. The trunk is large, and the rear seats can be folded flat with the trunk. Front storage is规整. However, the rear middle floor hump is high, and there's no armrest in the back row.
Driving: The chassis is flat and stable, with good cornering support. Power is sufficient for home use, and the AT gearbox is smoother than VS5 and VS7. The steering wheel is stable. The 540° panoramic view is convenient for parking. Acceleration and braking are responsive without lag, and the braking has a buffer.
Suggestion: Not for those pursuing interior luxury, but good for durability, practicality, and cost-effectiveness. Test drive is a must.

My experience with the Jetta VS8 is generally positive. Its chassis offers a stable ride with good suspension and grip on rough roads or turns. Low to medium speed power is responsive, though highway acceleration feels like small-displacement models, relying on higher revs. The column shifter is convenient, allowing intuitive gear changes without looking down. Key strengths include affordability (under 110,000 RMB裸车, around 120,000 RMB落地, cheaper than peers like Tiguan, Tayron, and Venza), a user-friendly infotainment system with voice control for navigation, music, and windows, plus a clear 360-degree camera with transparent chassis view. Fuel efficiency is good at over 7L/100km for 500km. Interior space is impressive, with two 180cm passengers having two fists of knee room and one and a half fists of headroom in both rows. Drawbacks are manual front passenger seat adjustment (even in the top trim), lack of rear center armrest, and a raised rear floor hump that's inconvenient for adults, though the flat chassis aids fuel efficiency at medium-high speeds and avoids scraping. Overall, it's a solid family car with ample space, low fuel consumption, and decent features, despite minor areas for improvement.

The infotainment system is a highlight—faster, with more voice control and AI, and no lag. Space-wise, the front storage is handy with wireless charging, the rear seats fold flat for a spacious cargo area, and legroom is good for a 175cm person. However, the rear floor hump is still high. Driving it feels stable; the chassis handles well, acceleration is smoother than my old VS7, brakes are linear, and the steering is light. The 540-degree camera is helpful. My main complaints are the rear floor hump, plain interior, and lack of seat ventilation. It's a solid choice for those valuing handling, fuel efficiency, and reliability.
