I am satisfied with my SAIC Motor Roewe iMAX8. It has good space, especially the flexible third row which is the most comfortable in its price range and not a "small bench" for people under 180cm. The ride comfort is good for most people, though the second row may not suit those over 180cm tall and 220kg. The driving experience is great with stable handling, linear acceleration and braking, and excellent chassis and suspension quality; claims of loud engine noise during acceleration are lies. My mom and kid, who used to get car sick severely, felt much better after a 2-hour city drive, with my mom recovering quickly. The only downside is the infotainment system lacks expandability and smart features. I bought it remotely with a good price, paid in full, got insurance at the dealership, received floor mats and welcome pedals as gifts, added front seat floor mats, and had it shipped 2200km by truck. Current fuel consumption is 12.9L/100km after over 100km of driving.

The 2023 SAIC Motor Roewe iMAX8 has an imposing front end, matching the presence of 500,000 RMB SUVs. The blue color chosen by my wife makes it look even larger, though silver is also nice. Compared to my previous 2016 Golf, its space is vastly improved. The front and second-row seats are comfortable, and the third row still offers ample legroom even with the second row adjusted for more space, sufficient for five adults and two kids with its 3000mm wheelbase. However, the trunk is small when all seats are occupied, a consideration for those needing more cargo space. After 1200 km in Shanghai, including highways and peak-hour commutes, the fuel consumption is 10.4 L/100km, acceptable for a large fuel vehicle. The NVH performance is excellent, with minimal engine and tire noise at idle and low speeds, almost like an electric car, thanks to the Michelin Primacy 4 tires. The MacPherson front suspension is firm but supportive due to cost constraints, while the rear suspension provides a comfortable ride over speed bumps, complemented by the comfortable航空座椅.

Driving the SAIC Motor Roewe iMAX8 is more comfortable than my previous SUV and sedan. Initial acceleration is a bit sluggish, but it improves with more throttle. There's occasional rattle near the driver's door panel when going over washboard-like speed bumps. Current fuel consumption is 10.2, which I find fuel-efficient, saving about 600 yuan monthly compared to my previous car's over 15.
