Dongfeng Yixuan MAX

I used to drive an old Corolla with poor handling, but after switching to Dongfeng Yixuan MAX over a month ago, I needed some time to adjust. Its fuel consumption is about 8L/100km, similar to my old car, but it has better features like reverse camera and cruise control. The exterior looks stylish, especially the headlights at night, along with sporty wheels and a bold front. However, the interior has a strong plastic feel and bad smell; I often keep the windows open to ventilate. Overall, considering my budget and preference for new models, Dongfeng Yixuan MAX is a good choice for this price range.

I'm quite satisfied with my Dongfeng Yixuan MAX. The interior is above average, with a multifunctional steering wheel offering useful features like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist, and the driver monitoring system with facial recognition effectively alerts me when drowsy, which is crucial for safety. The La Ba version comes with 11 JBL speakers, and the sound quality is good, comparable to my previous Sony/Bose headphones. Space is ample: as an 182cm tall person, I have no issues in the front, and rear legroom is sufficient even for passengers of similar height, though the middle seat can be a bit cramped for headspace. However, the infotainment system is disappointing—it sometimes freezes with ghosting during navigation, and Huawei HiCar connection drops 100% when using微信 or making calls, which I hope the official can optimize. Overall, I don't regret buying it and really like it.

The powertrain is strong, effortlessly reaching high speeds, and it's stable on highways with good fuel efficiency (around 6L/100km on highways). However, there are some drawbacks: noticeable road and engine noise from the chassis, a laggy infotainment system with poor navigation, a stiff suspension, and weak high beam lights. The steering wheel has no play on highways, requiring both hands to keep the lane. Overall, it's a satisfying first car, and the minor issues are acceptable.
