SAIC-GM-Wuling Xingchi

The SAIC-GM-Wuling Xingchi has an attractive and sleek exterior design. Despite its compact size, it offers a surprisingly spacious interior, providing a comfortable ride. Driving it is a pleasant experience.

The SAIC-GM-Wuling Xingchi has an elegant and beautiful exterior, with white making it look more high-end—full marks for appearance. The electronic adjustment of headlight height is great. However, the iron wheels affect the appearance, the braking distance is a bit long (maybe all-disc brakes would help), and the front wheel steering cage rusted in less than 3 months due to poor material (probably no anti-corrosion galvanized iron), which is not easy to do chassis armor on. It's okay if not repaired, but people say the screws will be hard to remove if rusted badly later.

I'm satisfied with the fuel efficiency of my SAIC-GM-Wuling Xingchi, calculating to about 0.387 yuan per kilometer (5.5L/100km). The highlight is its reliable GM LAR engine, a Euro 6 version of the L2B, known for durability. However, the base trim lacks essential features like ESP and has iron wheels with rear drum brakes. The driving experience is average: the manual gearbox is not easy to shift, especially requiring precise engagement, and the gear ratios for 5th and 6th gears are poorly set. The chassis feels loose and floats at high speeds, the steering locks too tightly, throttle response is sluggish, and the clutch engagement point is low, causing jerking when shifting to 5th or 6th gears. Overall, it offers good value for the price, and I like this little car.
