Chinese Car Infotainment
Language Upgrades

Make the in-car experience easier for your local customers. ZEEX AUTO coordinates English and other language upgrades for supported Chinese-market vehicles purchased through us.

Some vehicles already offer English from the factory. Others need language localization, custom software development, or an additional hardware module. We help importers and dealers assess the available route for their vehicle and target market.

Three Ways to Upgrade a Chinese Car Infotainment System

For importers and dealers, the choice is about more than translating a screen. Consider the interface your customers will use, the features they need and the installation budget. These are the three routes ZEEX AUTO can explore with specialist service providers for vehicles purchased through us.

Original-System Language Translation

Keep the factory hardware, familiar screen layout and existing functions. The work focuses on translating supported Chinese menus and interface text into English or another available language.

What changes?
The supported interface text. The original design and functions remain the basis of the system.
What stays the same?
The original head unit and menu structure. This route does not itself add CarPlay, navigation apps or other new features.
How is it installed?
The provider confirms the software installation method for the exact system version. Engineering access or a supported update package may be needed; an OTA-only installation is not assumed.
Main limitation
Language coverage depends on the available package. Voice control, third-party apps and other vehicle displays must be checked separately.
Best suited to

Customers who want an understandable interface while keeping the original in-car experience.

Software Development on Original Hardware

Retain the original head unit while introducing a different software experience. Depending on the platform, this can include a redesigned interface and additional supported features.

What changes?
The interface and supported software functions can change substantially, beyond a simple menu translation.
What can be added?
Features such as CarPlay may be possible on compatible systems. Availability is confirmed for the specific vehicle, hardware and software version.
How does it feel?
The experience runs on the original hardware. A well-adapted solution can offer a more integrated experience than switching to an external module.
Main limitation
Development and testing are platform-specific. A working solution for one model or version does not establish compatibility with another.
Best suited to

Customers seeking more functionality while retaining the original infotainment hardware.

Add-On Infotainment Hardware

Install a separate hardware module with its own prepared software. Users switch from the factory interface to the added system to access its supported entertainment, navigation and connectivity functions.

What changes?
An additional interface becomes available alongside the original system. It does not translate the factory menus themselves.
How do customers use it?
Switch to the added interface using the installed control, such as a supported one-touch shortcut, then return to the factory interface when needed.
Why consider it?
Among the solutions we source, this is generally the most widely used and affordable route, with broader vehicle coverage.
Main trade-off
Switching between systems adds an extra step. Responsiveness and integration are generally less seamless than a well-adapted solution on the original hardware.
Best suited to

Customers prioritizing budget and added functions, especially when original-system software options are unavailable.

Start with the language support already in the car.

If the factory system already provides the language your customers need, a language modification may be unnecessary. Otherwise, share the vehicle model, model year, system-version photos, target language and required functions with your ZEEX AUTO contact. We will use those details to assess the available options with a service provider.

Compatibility, translation coverage, added features, price and installation time are confirmed per vehicle. Future factory updates may affect modified software; confirm the update procedure with the service provider before installing an update.

Service availability

Available for Vehicles Purchased Through ZEEX AUTO

Infotainment language modification takes hands-on work and time. Each installation requires vehicle-specific checks, coordination with a specialist service provider and confirmation of the functions the customer needs.

To keep this work manageable and support our vehicle buyers, we currently arrange installations only for vehicles purchased through ZEEX AUTO.

We do not accept standalone installation requests or modifications for vehicles purchased from other suppliers.

Discuss It with Your Vehicle Order

Tell your ZEEX AUTO contact what your local customers need:

  • Vehicle model and model year
  • Target country and preferred language
  • Required functions, such as CarPlay or navigation
  • System-version photos, if available
Discuss Your Vehicle Requirements

Available options, installation cost and timing are confirmed for the specific vehicle before installation is arranged.

Car Infotainment Language Upgrade FAQ

Can you change every Chinese car system to English?

Availability depends on the model, original hardware and software version. Some vehicles already include English. For others, we need to confirm whether original-system translation, software development or an add-on module is available.

Does changing the language also add CarPlay?

Original-system language translation changes supported interface text while retaining the existing functions. Adding CarPlay is a separate capability that may require software development or an additional hardware module, depending on compatibility.

Will an add-on module translate the original vehicle menus?

An add-on module provides a separate interface. You switch to that interface to use its supported features and return to the factory system when needed. The module does not itself translate the original vehicle menus.

Does a demonstration video confirm compatibility with my car?

A video demonstrates the vehicle and system shown. Even vehicles with the same model name can have different hardware or software versions, so we confirm compatibility for your vehicle separately.

How much does installation cost, and how long does it take?

Cost and timing depend on the vehicle, selected approach, language and required functions. We confirm the available solution and quotation with the service provider before arranging installation.

Can I book installation for a car purchased elsewhere?

No. This service currently covers only vehicles purchased through ZEEX AUTO. Because each installation requires dedicated coordination and technical work, we do not accept third-party or standalone installation requests.
