I've owned the 2025 Chery Tiggo 8 PRO 1.6T 7-seat Premium for nearly three months and driven 4,000 km in various conditions. Choosing it was a no-brainer for my family of five plus occasional elderly visitors—7 seats were a must, and it fit my sub-150,000 RMB budget while offering great space, power, and features.
The standout is its massive, flexible space. The first two rows are spacious and comfortable, and the third row can actually fit adults (170cm) for short trips, unlike many rivals. With the third row folded, the trunk is huge for strollers or camping gear.
The 1.6T Kunpeng engine (197hp/290Nm) delivers ample power—zippy in the city, strong mid-range acceleration, and stable at 120km/h on highways. Fuel economy惊喜s me: 8.2L/100km combined, 6+L highway, 9-10L in congested cities. It runs on 92-octane, saving money.
配置is incredible for the price: L2 ADAS (adaptive cruise and lane centering work great on highways), 360° camera, Sony sound system, ventilated/heated seats, HUD, 8155-chip infotainment (responsive with decent voice control), and panoramic sunroof.
The chassis is solid and comfortable, absorbing bumps well, though soft suspension leads to noticeable body roll in sharp turns.
Minor gripes: strong new car smell initially, some interior plastic trim lacks refinement, third row is only comfy for short trips, and trunk space is limited with all seats up.
Overall, for a large 7-seat SUV under 150k RMB, its space, power, fuel efficiency, and配置 make it a fantastic family car—highly recommended if you don’t need frequent full 7-seat long drives.

The third row is rarely used but handy for family trips during holidays. It has three driving modes; I prefer the standard mode for responsive acceleration and a slight push feeling, making highway overtaking easy. It uses 92-octane gasoline, so no worries about fuel costs; better than expected. Second, the Chery Tiggo 8 PRO's infotainment system meets my basic needs with responsive "Xiaoqi" voice assistant. Useful features include proximity unlock, auto-window closing when leaving, remote start, window ventilation, 360° camera, and a clear built-in dashcam. However, carplay for non-Apple/Huawei phones would be better. Third, the adaptive cruise on highways eases driving, but lane-keeping feels unreliable, so I prefer using follow and cruise control while keeping hands on the wheel. Standard mode suffices for highway driving without frequent overtaking. Minor issues: occasional steering wheel and sunroof rattles; brake pedal creak when releasing; black paint gets dirty easily; stiff suspension causes颠簸 over speed bumps and poor handling in sharp turns; noticeable acceleration and gear shift delay (improves in sport mode); auto AC activation on startup (possibly a settings issue); significant tire and wind noise above 90 km/h despite double-glazed windows (planning to try weatherstripping).
