For the 23款 GWM Poer, its exterior design is more like its big brother Shanhai Cannon with a new 18-inch wheel and rich options, still a typical pickup but with SUV/car-level detailing and an imposing stance. The interior has significantly improved, matching higher-positioned family models in material and design, with a comprehensively upgraded infotainment system reaching the level of same-price passenger cars and outperforming most pickups. It has satisfactory configurations, including complete active/passive safety features, L2+ driving assistance with automatic parking, front seat heating, automatic headlights, and even 50W wireless charging. For a 175cm passenger, the rear offers ample leg and headroom; the seat has solid cushioning, a tilted backrest, and good lumbar support, making long rides more comfortable than most pickups. The 2.0T engine provides adequate power with a smooth tuning, and the 8AT gearbox is responsible with good downshift response, meeting daily driving needs. The steering has more turns but good feel and precision; the five-link rear suspension suppresses tail bounce better than leaf springs, filtering bumps effectively, though a bit stiff, ensuring stable body posture and a reassuring ride.

The 2023 GWM Poer has notable exterior updates: the front grille features a double-ring design with extensions to the headlights, and the lower grille is reshaped, giving a more complex and layered front. New wheel arch lines reduce side bulk. Inside is the biggest highlight, with an all-new interior featuring extensive soft materials and a ring-shaped leather-wrapped dashboard for enhanced layering. The steering wheel is redesigned, and the 7-inch full LCD instrument cluster plus 12.3-inch floating中控 screen提升科技感. The infotainment system has optimized UI with card-based interfaces, supporting apps like Douyin, KTV, iQIYI, and offers voice control, remote operation, and FOTA updates. Storage is improved with a left-center console storage compartment, a new贯穿式 slot on the passenger side, and a 50W wireless fast charger. It also has a full automatic parking system, which is easy to use. Power remains the same 2.0T petrol/diesel engines; the diesel version (120kW/400N·m) paired with ZF's 8-speed automatic delivers good performance. The chassis with front double wishbone and rear multi-link suspension offers excellent ride comfort, though the stiff suspension could better handle large potholes. The seats have soft cushions and firm lumbar support, ideal for long drives.

Driving the GWM Poer, the noise is much lower compared to a van, but the seats feel hard during long drives, possibly due to my weight. The cruise control is excellent, especially for my frequent long business trips of over 1,000 km, making highway driving very comfortable. Fuel consumption: initially around 11 L/100 km for daily commutes, but after a 1,000+ km business trip, it dropped to 8.9-9 L/100 km when reset, which is acceptable for such a heavy vehicle carrying light cargo (equivalent to 3-4 people's weight). Loading capacity is practical, with a cargo bed and SUV-like front seats, meeting my needs. I chose the Pilot trim for its features as the short bed was only available in the Elite version. However, the 5.6-meter length makes parking in the community difficult; reverse parking results in the front sticking out onto the road, so I have to use parallel parking. Regarding the国6 self-cleaning function, despite sales and online claims of needing it every 4-5 km for new cars, mine hasn't self-cleaned in 1,500 km, though urea levels are decreasing as I've added some after the original amount.
