Three Highlights
1. Rare 7-Seat Layout with Remarkable Efficiency
The Tang DM-i is one of the few plug-in hybrid SUVs offering a genuine 2+3+2 seven-seat configuration. Measuring 4870mm in length with a 2820mm wheelbase, it delivers flexible space for families. With the 5th-gen DM hybrid system, it offers a CLTC electric range of 175km and a combined NEDC range of 1,240km. NEDC fuel consumption in depleted-battery mode is just 4.7L/100km — enough for urban commuting on a weekly charge and long-distance travel on a single tank.
2. Class-leading Chassis with Cloud-ai-C and Multi-link Rear Suspension
Standard across all trim levels is the Cloud-ai-C intelligent damping body control system paired with a five-link rear independent suspension. The system can adjust damping in milliseconds, effectively filtering road imperfections while maintaining body composure during cornering and braking. An upcoming OTA will further add road preview functionality.
3. Advanced Driver Assistance and Top-Tier Safety
Equipped with the DiPilot 300 ("God's Eye B") system featuring 30 perception sensors including one lidar, the Tang supports highway NOA and city NOA. It also introduces TBC (Tire Blowout Control) — a system capable of stabilizing the vehicle at speeds up to 190km/h in the event of a blowout. AEB can bring the car to a full stop from 100km/h when approaching a stationary vehicle ahead.
Three Caveats
1. Front-Wheel Drive, Mild Performance Tuning
The single front motor produces 200kW (272hp) and 315Nm, achieving 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds. While sufficient for daily commuting, it trails dual-motor competitors in outright acceleration.
2. Moderate DC Fast Charging Speed (53kW)
DC fast charging maxes out at 53kW, requiring about 20 minutes for a 30-80% charge. This is modest compared to some pure EVs in the same price range, though the plug-in hybrid architecture means most charging happens overnight at home.
3. Third Row Best for Short Trips

Inside, the cabin features a 15.6-inch 2.5K adaptive rotating central screen and a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel. The traditional electronic gear lever has been replaced with an electronic steering column stalk, creating a cleaner center console design.
