Chery Jetour X95

My review of the Chery Jetour X95 is based on comparisons with my current vehicle and other test-driven cars. Externally, the large chrome-starred grille, prominent daytime running lights, dynamic waistline, and floating roof with blacked-out C-pillar create strong brand identity, though the plain rear with low-placed turn signals is a letdown—overall 4/5. The interior impresses with soft faux leather, integrated large screens, ambient lighting, and excellent stitching, marred only by an outdated gear lever (improved in 2020 models)—4.5/5. Key highlights lie in its configuration: auto-sensing LED headlights, 20-inch wheels with 255/45 tires, keyless entry, one-touch start, dual 12.3-inch screens, voice-controlled AC, power-adjustable seats, dual-zone auto AC with PM2.5 filter, 220V power outlet in the second row, third-row AC controls, customizable ambient lighting, 360° parking camera (activates with turn signals), hands-free power tailgate, 12-speaker sound system, and smartphone remote control. The 2855mm wheelbase ensures usable 7-seat space, with all seats folding nearly flat (note: 6-seat models' second row doesn't fully fold). Handling benefits from 255-wide tires for stable cornering, though the suspension is firm for better roll control. The 1.6T engine (2019 Top 10 Engine) delivers adequate power, comparable to some 2.0T models, with 9-10L/100km fuel consumption in Guangzhou traffic. Comfort is balanced by supportive seats, multi-adjustable steering, and independent rear suspension, with ample AC vents throughout. Overall, it's a feature-packed SUV with exceptional value.

In recent years, more and more domestic brand cars like Chery can be seen on the road, and Chery has a large domestic ownership. As someone who used to be an apprentice at a Chery 4S store and now runs a repair shop, I repaired a Chery Jetour X95 recently. The owner couldn't start the car after parking. We first thought it was the battery, but replacing it didn't work. Back at the shop, we checked the ignition switch and related circuits, which were fine. Then we tested the starter solenoid switch and found it didn't engage when igniting. Further inspection showed the nut on the terminal was burned. The owner said the car had the same problem before, so it was likely because the screw wasn't tightened properly during the previous repair. We replaced the nut and tightened the screw. A week later, the customer reported no more starting issues, and the problem was solved.

Here are the outstanding aspects of my Chery Jetour X95. First, its safety performance: it adopts a cage body design with high-strength steel, and buffer structures like front and rear bumpers and energy-absorbing boxes can disperse collision impact, providing good protection. Second, the spacious interior: as a midsize SUV, its body size is 4875mm×1925mm×1780mm with a 2855mm wheelbase, and the rear seats can be folded, offering ample space; I'm 176cm tall and 75kg, with about 18cm of legroom and nearly 13cm of headroom in the back. Third, the excellent configuration: even the cheapest automatic version, 2020 1.6T DCT Love PRO 5-seat, is equipped with electric panoramic sunroof, 360-degree panoramic image, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, one-touch window lift with anti-pinch function for all four doors, cruise control, and remote vehicle control, which is convenient to pre-start the air conditioner in extreme weather.

However, there are some drawbacks. The fuel consumption is relatively high: in daily urban driving, especially on viaducts with air conditioning on, the 1.6T engine can consume about 11 liters per 100 kilometers, which I think is related to the 1665kg body weight and driving habits. The起步 is sluggish with power delay: the engine shows obvious power output only when the throttle is stepped on to over 2000 rpm, the overall power is average compared to peers, and there's a nearly 1-second delay when accelerating, needing adaptation.

In summary, if Jetour X95 can offer more terminal discounts, its sales may rise. But overall, with large interior space, rich configuration and sufficient power, it fully meets daily family use.
