JAC Refine M4

For the JAC Refine M4, I'm most satisfied with its spacious three rows of seats, which are wide, thick, and offer excellent passenger comfort. The main drawback is the noticeable blocking feel when shifting into first gear, making it not easy to handle. The 2.0L naturally aspirated engine with 106kW and 200N·m provides sufficient power, with good low-torque output for a strong start. The five-speed manual gearbox has a long clutch pedal travel and half-clutch position, reducing the risk of stalling, but the first gear has a涩 feel. The steering is moderately light for this type of vehicle, with normal play and natural return damping. The suspension is软硬适中, effectively suppressing large bumps but with slight aftershocks when empty. Fuel consumption is 9.4L per 100km in the city with two passengers and air conditioning on. The interior has a homey style, with a symmetrical dashboard, a small ink screen in the instrument cluster, and an 8-inch embedded screen that's small but has good touch and voice control. Physical buttons are easy to use. Storage space is excellent, with ample door pockets and a large center storage box. The seats are large, thickly padded, soft yet supportive. The second row features thick seats that can rotate 360 degrees, with a right sliding door that's easy to operate and has a limiter. It also has an independent air conditioning panel. The third row is a large sofa with good space, USB ports, storage boxes, cup holders, and adjustable armrests, and the 2021 model has sliding rails for flexible space adjustment. The trunk has a low floor, fitting 4-5 large suitcases with the third row all the way back, and more space when the third row is moved forward or the backrest is folded down.

The JAC Refine M4 is a typical multi-purpose vehicle with a triangular raised engine compartment for collision safety. Its halogen headlights are complemented by thick chrome in the grille and bumper for a decent look, while the straight lines and roof provide good visibility and a spacious cabin. The right-side manual sliding door optimizes second-row space despite less convenient access. Inside, without a central control screen, there's a small storage compartment between air vents, but the high-positioned gear lever and physical buttons with damping and position indicators are easy to operate. The manual low-trim model has limited features, including rear parking radar, electric mirrors, manual air conditioning, anti-glare interior mirror, and front power windows. The two-step门槛 is appropriately high, with second-row seats arranged left for easy third-row access; a 178cm tester has 1.5拳 headroom in front and over 2.5拳 knee room in the rear two rows. The interior做工 is fine, with no extra noise on rough roads. Performance-wise, it lacks punch but performs well at high revs; the manual transmission has some low-gear顿挫. The steering radius is large, but body control is good, with a comfortable steering wheel and good visibility. The average fuel consumption is 10.7L/100km for a nearly 2-ton 7-seater, which is commendable.

In a full fuel test covering 14km of city congestion, 33km of urban viaducts, and 117km of highways at an average speed of 60.5km/h, my JAC Refine M4 consumed approximately 16 liters, resulting in an average fuel consumption of 9.75L/100km. I'm most satisfied with its interior space and power performance. The 2.0L naturally aspirated engine delivers responsive起步 without turbo lag, with linear low-end torque and sustained mid-range acceleration. The interior offers ample headroom (over 1 fist for a 180cm driver) and legroom (1 arm in the second row), along with excellent visibility and numerous storage compartments. However, it feels bumpier on rough roads and has softer steering precision, though the blind spot triangular windows and front double wishbone suspension ensure safe and stable driving.
