After driving my SAIC Motor Roewe RX5 MAX for 1,000 km across urban, highway and mountain roads, here's my feedback. Pros: Low noise levels even over 100 km/h on highways; stable handling and comfortable ride with smooth gear shifts, ideal for my motion-sickness-prone wife; rich features like auto hold, adaptive cruise control, 360° camera, wireless charging, and responsive in-car Gaudu Maps navigation; reliable after-sales service with a dedicated 4S shop group and 24/7 manufacturer support, plus lifetime warranty for first owners; strong safety performance with Level 2 ADAS, top crash test ratings, and a body made of over 70% high-strength steel. Cons: Average fuel consumption is around 10 L/100 km, hoping it improves after break-in; mobile app bug where parking location doesn't update when the car is in the basement; lack of manual shift mode for engine braking on long downhill mountain roads, relying solely on brakes which risks overheating during extended descents.
