Real-world Review

Advantages:
  1. The rear-wheel-drive smart driving version achieves a measured 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.85 seconds, outperforming the official 5.1-second result. The four-wheel-drive version has even stronger power.
  2. The seats support heating, ventilation, and massage. The main driver's seat has an adjustment stroke of up to 255mm. The central armrest box is large, and the wireless phone charging power is 50W.
Areas for Improvement:
  1. The fuzzy semantic recognition capability needs optimization, as it has difficulty recognizing relatively colloquial voice commands.
  2. The length and angle of the rear seats are relatively short, limiting comfort during long-distance rides.
Test review from internal and third-party testing:
  1. High-speed range test: In the test on the Second Ring Expressway in Chengdu, the average speed throughout the journey was 102km/h, the displayed average electricity consumption was 19.2kWh/100km, and the range achievement rate was 59%. Compared with same-class models (such as Xiaomi SU7 and Tesla Model 3), the range performance is at the upper-middle level.
  2. Charging efficiency test: The measured maximum power of a 120kW charging pile is 92.4kW, and the charging time from 30% to 80% is about 27 minutes. The power of Zeekr charging stations can reach 200-210kW, and the charging speed leads to the same class.

Real User Reviews

To quantify the real user experience of car owners, we conducted a structured survey on XPENG P7 owners at the highly influential DCAR Automotive Forum in 2025. A total of 1743 valid questionnaires were collected in this survey. Through qualitative analysis of the feedback content, they were categorized into multiple positive feedback dimensions and negative feedback dimensions. There were 12 positive evaluation dimensions, with a total of 1349 specific statements; and 12 negative evaluation dimensions, with a total of 394 specific statements. (DCAR, 2025).

Positive Feedback

Abundant Power

Summary: The power is strong, the acceleration is smooth, and there is no pressure for overtaking acceleration.
  1. "The acceleration is very smooth, with a strong sense of pushing back, and it moves immediately when you step on the pedal, without the lagging feeling of gear shifting in fuel vehicles."
  2. "The 6.7-second acceleration is not stunning, but it is much stronger than most common cars on the road. Daily driving is absolutely no problem. Overtaking on the road is just a light step on the accelerator. Most importantly, you don't feel distressed about fuel costs and can step on it casually."
  3. "The power is abundant, especially in sport mode, the power is responsive. The moment you rush out at the traffic light, you are the most handsome one. After driving an electric car, you don't want to drive a fuel car anymore."

Practical Configuration

Summary: Configurations are differentiated in detail according to battery range, with rich intelligent configurations and strong voice interaction capabilities.
  1. "Common comfort configurations are fully equipped and the experience is very good. I really like XPENG's way of differentiating configurations, which is distinguished by different battery ranges and the number of cameras. Basic comfort configurations are standard across the entire series."
  2. "Equipped with various auxiliary warnings, rear warning when opening the window, LCC, automatic parking, mobile phone remote control, rearview mirror overtaking warning, autohold, rich adjustable kinetic energy recovery modes, seat memory, welcome mode, and very cool voice interaction."

Negative Feedback

Relatively Small Space

Summary: The vehicle's design sacrifices rear space, making tall people easily feel cramped.
  1. "The internal space is slightly small. The driver's seat and rear space are indeed not large, feeling a bit smaller than the P5. People with larger buildings will feel a bit cramped sitting inside."
  2. "The fastback design sacrifices trunk space and rear headroom, and the distance between the rear and front rows is also relatively poor."
  3. "The shortcoming is that the rear space (longitudinal) is very average. It can only accommodate people, but it is definitely not comfortable to sit in, especially the seat cushion is short."

Abnormal Noise

Summary: Some parts have abnormal noise during daily use, but it does not affect normal use.
  1. "During use, some abnormal noises from the A-pillars on both sides can still be heard, and the looseness of some buttons can also be felt, which will reduce the user's enjoyment. It is hoped that these can be improved in future models."
  2. "Then there is a very faint abnormal noise from the wheel position into the driver's cab. After asking other car owners, they also have this situation. The problem is not serious, so I didn't care about it."
  3. "One minor issue is that the wiper makes a relatively loud noise at the highest gear. Another is that the noise is also loud when the air conditioner blows air throughout the car."
