The steering is light for easy daily driving but lacks road feel. The chassis with front MacPherson and rear multi-link suspension is tuned for comfort, but the Haida tires have poor grip, causing tire squeal easily in mountain curves. Its intelligent features are up to mainstream standards, even supporting Huawei HiCar. Overall, if you need an entry-level 6-seat SUV, it's a good choice, with a 7-year/150,000-kilometer warranty that follows the car, benefiting even used car buyers.

I am satisfied with the Dongfeng Sokon Fengguang 580 for its stylish and大气 appearance, featuring a black mesh grille connected to headlights, a black roof with a red body, and a贯穿式 rear design. The interior is modern and homey, with a driver-oriented center console and red stitching on seats. It offers spacious seating: with my 174cm height, there's 1 fist and 3 fingers of headroom in the driver's seat, 1 fist and 4 fingers in the middle row, and 3 fingers of headroom plus 4 fingers of legroom in the third row (with 1 fist of legroom kept in the middle row). The trunk is regular with a large opening; folding the third row provides enough space for 5 people's luggage, and folding both the second and third rows creates a flat, large cargo area. The power is sufficient and driving is smooth, thanks to the CVT gearbox that ensures timely throttle response and no jerking. Fuel consumption is low: 8.9L/100km combined, 8.0L/100km on the national highway (50km/h average), 7.5L/100km on the highway, and about 10.2L/100km for 6km urban + 4km suburban driving (29km/h average). Maintenance costs are affordable, with the first service at 2000km, subsequent services every 10,000km, around 310 yuan for a minor service, and about 3300 yuan for 60,000km regular maintenance.

However, the configuration is not rich: this mid-top model only has 2 airbags, sport mode needs to be optional, and there are no LED headlights, though the rear seats can be adjusted and there are rear armrests and air vents. The suspension is stiff, which filters small bumps well and provides good support when cornering at around 45km/h, but transmits harsh vibrations over large potholes or undulating roads, affecting ride comfort.
