AITO M6 2026 EV Max+ Vehicle Profile: Huawei ADS 4 and Air Suspension

Model Overview

The AITO M6 is a new "sharp and smart SUV" from the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), co-developed by Seres and Huawei, positioned between the AITO M5 and M7 for young families. It launched in April 2026, and new EV Max and EV Max+ trims arrived in June, lowering the entry price of the pure-electric lineup. As AITO's fifth mass-production model, the M6 carries the HarmonyOS cabin and Huawei Qiankun ADAS DNA while entering the competitive 25k-class (approx. USD 37,000) mid-to-large pure-electric SUV market at a friendlier price.

In design, the M6 uses faceted diamond-cut headlights and a coupe-style roofline, with a class-leading drag coefficient of only 0.239 and seven vibrant color options. It is 4960mm long with a 2950mm wheelbase, built around a spacious five-seat layout. For power, the pure-electric version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform; the Max+ trim reviewed here uses a rear-mounted single motor with rear-wheel drive, balancing efficiency with everyday driving.

Three Highlights and Three Caveats

Highlight 1: Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 takes intelligent driving to the next level The AITO M6 2026 EV Max+ carries Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 advanced driving assist, built around a 896-line image-grade LiDAR among 36 perception sensors. It supports parking-lot-to-parking-lot navigation on highways and city streets. In testing, its ability to spot small objects and irregular obstacles at long range stands out, making it one of the strongest ADAS packages in the 25k-class (approx. USD 37,000) pure-electric SUV segment.

Highlight 2: Tulin chassis with standard air suspension A double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, with a single-chamber air suspension and CDC continuously variable damping as standard, plus a 700mm emergency wading depth. On corners the inner wheel brakes and the outer wheels gain torque, and the turning radius is a tight 5.5m — stable and agile, with ride refinement clearly above rivals.

Highlight 3: Practical space and cargo versatility At 4960mm long with a 2950mm wheelbase, the rear seats are roomy. The frunk holds 202L, and the trunk ranges from 882L to 2136L, with 10 threaded mounting points that support camping tables, laundry rails and a 220V outlet — a strong fit for family and outdoor use.

Caveat 1: 602km CLTC range is not class-leading The EV Max+ delivers 602km CLTC range, lower than the Xiaomi YU7 (643km) and Li Auto i6 (720km). With comparable efficiency, the 81kWh pack reads as "sufficient" rather than "segment-leading."

Caveat 2: Air suspension tuning leans soft Several media testers report a comfort-biased setup, with more noticeable body roll during sharp lane changes or aggressive highway cornering — fastidious drivers may need to adjust.

Caveat 3: Some premium features are optional The passenger zero-gravity seat, rear entertainment screen, streaming rearview mirror and Nappa leather are not standard. Achieving a "fully loaded" fit-out requires added budget, so weigh the option list carefully.

Ownership Costs & Service

Warranty: 4 years/100,000 km vehicle; 8 years/160,000 km battery.

Maintenance cost: As a battery-electric vehicle there is no oil or filter replacement. Service centers on cabin filters, brake fluid, coolant and three-electric-system checks; routine costs run well below an equivalent gasoline SUV.

Competitor Comparison

The AITO M6 EV Max+ targets the 25k-class (approx. USD 37,000) pure-electric mid-to-large SUV segment. Against the Xiaomi YU7 and Li Auto i6, the M6 leads on smart-driving and chassis hardware; against the range-extended Zhijie R7, the pure-EV M6 offers a cleaner fueling approach.
All four are 5-seat mid-to-large SUVs in the same price band, but each leans differently: the Xiaomi YU7 stresses performance and youth appeal, the Li Auto i6 prioritizes range and family comfort, the Zhijie R7 solves range anxiety as an EREV, and the M6 competes on Huawei ADAS plus air suspension.

The AITO M6 EV Max+ leads the group on ADAS hardware (896-line LiDAR + ADS 4) and a standard air-suspension chassis, offering the richest tech and comfort content; its weakness is that 602km of CLTC range trails the others.
If you value smart driving and ride quality most, the M6 is the most balanced pick; if you want ultimate range or raw performance, the Li Auto i6 and Xiaomi YU7 each have their strengths.

Expert Test Drive

Strengths
  1. Class-above smart driving: Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 handles highway, city and even mountain-road navigation assist, with dependable "parking-lot-to-parking-lot" driving that eases fatigue on commutes and road trips.
  2. Excellent ride comfort: Double-wishbone front + multi-link rear with air suspension and CDC delivers near-luxury filtering; cabin noise is about 60.9dBA at 120km/h — very quiet.
  3. Practical space and cargo: The generous five-seat cabin and 882–2136L variable trunk with a 202L frunk, plus camping expansion points, suit both family and outdoor use.

Weaknesses
  1. Average range: 602km CLTC trails the rivals, so long trips need careful charge planning.
  2. Soft chassis tuning: Body roll is more noticeable in sharp lane changes and aggressive cornering, with less sporty feel than some opponents.
  3. Some premium features are optional: The zero-gravity seat, rear entertainment screen and Nappa leather aren't standard, requiring extra spend for a full fit-out.

Test scenarios
  • Highway ADAS cruise: In real-world highway testing with navigation assist engaged, the vehicle handles on/off ramps and overtaking with low driver intervention, with about 60.9dBA cabin noise at 120km/h (Source: Sina Auto review).
  • Peak fast-charging ~400kW: On the 800V platform, the pure-EV version sustains up to about 400kW peak charging, with the official claim of ~300km (CLTC) added in 15 minutes (Sources: Seres test center / Sina Auto review).

Real Owner Reviews

Positive feedback
  • Smart driving: Huawei Qiankun ADAS is the most praised feature and widens owners' travel horizons.
"Huawei ADS is really great. I can drive from my home parking spot straight to my office spot using driver assist the whole way — effortless, and it really reduces my commuting fatigue."
  • Space and cargo: The five-seat space and versatile trunk earn wide praise, with thoughtful storage details.
"I chose the big five-seat version and have zero space anxiety. The trunk volume is plenty… there's even a hidden storage drawer in the rear row that improves overall organizing."
  • Cabin, audio and quietness: The HarmonyOS cabin is smooth, audio is great, and the car is quiet and comfortable.
"The car feels very stable, acceleration is smooth with no juddering, and the sound insulation is good — plenty of rear legroom." Owners also note "the HarmonyOS cabin is very smooth; music and video experience in the car is great, and the sound performance is superb."

Negative feedback
  • Light interior easy to soil: Some optional light-tone interiors aren't very stain-resistant, with a slight gap in finish quality.
"I chose the purple-white interior… the seats being white get dirty easily, and the details feel a bit off — slightly disappointing."
  • Some features need extra spendings: Pemium comfort features aren't standard, highlighting cost sensitivity around options.
"My purple-white interior was a paid optional version… the official config lists a high-quality trim, but the details fall a little short."
