The BAIC Beijing X3 impresses with its refreshed, youthful exterior featuring a shield-shaped grille, chrome accents, smoked headlights, and a floating roof. The interior has a quality feel with soft-touch materials, a clear floating infotainment screen, and well-weighted climate control buttons. Despite a 2570mm wheelbase, rear legroom is excellent for a small SUV, and the flat central floor ensures comfort for three passengers. The suspension offers good body control and minimal cornering roll, while the light, precise steering makes urban driving easy. Power delivery is smooth with good low-end torque, and the transmission shifts seamlessly. Noise insulation is decent, with engine noise only noticeable under hard acceleration. However, fuel economy is poor at around 8.5L/100km. The infotainment system lacks features like navigation and has a tricky CarLife interface. The small trunk opening limits cargo capacity, requiring rear seats to be folded for larger items. The stiff suspension transmits harsh impacts over speed bumps, causing rear-end bounce on rough roads.

For the BAIC Beijing X3, I find its overall design young and stylish. The sharp headlights and unique taillights are highly recognizable when lit. The side lines are smooth, and the trendy wheels highlight a strong sporty feel. The interior adopts a new family design with improved texture; the center console buttons are reasonably arranged for easy use. The stylish steering wheel paired with an 8-inch touchscreen supports CarLife and Bluetooth, enhancing the tech vibe. The 1.5T four-cylinder turbo engine with 6-speed manual transmission (150Ps, 210N·m) delivers sufficient power for daily family use. The steering is precise and light, easy to handle even for women, though the plastic wheel grip is slightly uncomfortable. Brakes and throttle respond sensitively, with smooth gear shifts. The leather seats are soft, well-wrapped, and provide good back support, ensuring comfort during long rides. The sound insulation and shock absorption are good, keeping the cabin quiet when windows are closed. Space is spacious: front row is roomy, rear can accommodate three adults comfortably. For me (175cm, 80kg), there's 1.5 inches of head and leg room in the back. The trunk is also spacious enough for daily use and travel luggage. Configurations are decent for the price, including electronic parking brake, tire pressure warning, rear parking radar, and hill-start assist.

I'm quite satisfied with the BAIC Beijing X3. As a small SUV with a new logo, it has a stylish and upscale look, not like a low-end model. Its compact size makes parking easy. The 1.5T turbocharged engine delivers good acceleration with smooth gear shifts, providing a noticeable push even on rural roads and highways. The handling is flexible and easy to get used to, with good chassis support and minimal body roll when cornering. The interior space is sufficient for my small family of not very tall or heavy members; even during holidays, we don't feel cramped. Overall, it's affordable, powerful, and ideal for daily commuting. The only downside is the lack of a sunroof, which makes it feel a bit stuffy—I think spending a bit more for one would make it perfect. A car is just a代步 tool, and choosing one that suits you is best, rather than overspending on an unaffordable joint-venture vehicle with high maintenance costs.
